Playtime Ideas For Babies

Games to play with your newborn till he is 3 months old

The games in this phase will be more about touching and tickling, games in which he’ll feel. Before you play always do check that he’s properly fed and is in a mood to play. Once you have established a proper connection with the baby you can try the following things,
* Tickle him gently under the neck or around his arms.
* Play with him by giving your finger to him to play with. Place your finger in his palm and let him clutch it and play, he’ll enjoy having his palm warped around your finger.
* Make faces when he is looking at you, look into his eyes, smile make funny faces, sometimes sweet, blink continuously and poke out your tongue.
* Talk to him, let him try to talk to you. Sing songs or nursery rhymes to him.
* Put on some music and take him in your arms, sway together and enjoy the music.

Games to play with your baby when he’s between 3 to 6 months

This is the age when your baby will start grabbing and grasping things. Now it is the time to play with the toys you’ve stored up for him. You can also do the following listed
* Hold her ankles, play with his hands and move his legs in cyclic rotations. This will delight your baby for sure.
* You can play with him even when you are bathing him. Just put some bathing toys in his bathtub, splash water on him but be careful about the slips.

Games to play with him in between the age of 6 to 9 months

This is the time when your baby learns to sit and crawl. So now you can take these steps to play around him,
* You can spread his toys around him at a distance so that he moves, crawl here and there collecting them.
* Now you can provide him with solid toys like rings, Lego, blocks etc to play with.
* Babies at this age love noise and bang things in accordance to produce noise.
* Now is the time when you can sing rhymes to him and that too with actions. You can enact rhymes like Twinkle Twinkle, ‘Wheels on the bus go round in round’ etc.
* You can also take your baby in your arms and give him a tour of the house, you can even peep out the window to show him things.
* You can also feed birds in your courtyard, your baby will giggle and will love to watch them eat.

Games to play with your baby when he turns 9 months old to 12 months.

This is the age when your baby will move more than before, he’ll become quite mobile. He will walk confidently, so now we advise you to play with her games which involve movements.
* Now is the age you can play hide and seek with your baby. Babies generally do not like to be left alone at this age, he will follow you where ever you go, 
* You can also play ‘peek a boo’, with him. In this game all you have to do is peep behind the wall or a sofa to surprise him, he’ll welcome you with a smile.
* You can buy him some multicolored balls to play with. You can throw them at a distance and ask him to fetch.
* Buy some books with a big bold colorful picture. Sit with him showing the pictures in the book, plot or read stories along, he’ll enjoy it for sure.
